The natural aging process is one thing we have no control over. Same with our bodies, our skin ages for a variety of reasons. There are certain things we can’t change, but there are others that we can influence. We all develop wrinkles on our skin as the years pass by. As we age, we naturally lose part of our youthful fullness in our faces. Because our skin becomes thinner and drier, we sense it. Our DNA primarily determines the timing of these changes, but you can still fight aging skin in natural ways. Our lifestyle and environment can bring on the premature aging of the skin. We can slow the effects of this form of aging on our skin if we take a few precautionary measures. Here are some natural, non-invasive ways to fight aging skin.

1 Apply sunscreen

Every day, apply sunscreen. Even though we all know that sunscreen is the most basic way to prepare your skin for sunny weather, you should wear it all year round. Putting sunscreen on should be as automatic as brushing your teeth, come rain or shine, no matter the weather.  Really it is so important.  If you were born along with the baby boomers then you probably did what I did.  Yes, oil and not even a good kind, to attract the sun.  Completely opposite of what you should do.  Now I get to spend my golden years trying to reverse the ageing that took place.  It is an upward battle, but not impossible.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. This is because it blocks the sun’s rays in both UVA and UVB categories. The sun’s aging effects are caused by UVA radiation. Look for natural sun plant filters like raspberry seed oil, cocoa butter, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide in the ingredients list for UVA protection.  Choosing a sunscreen that uses clean natural ingredients is very important for the environment and you.  Keep in mind whatever you put on your skin is absorbed.  Natural Sunscreen works but if you go into the water or sweat it off, it is a good idea to re apply.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for reapplying sunscreen. Be generous with your application, and reapply every one to three hours, depending on how much you sweat, swim, or are exposed to direct sunlight, as most individuals don’t apply enough.

2 Eat a well-balanced diet

According to a few studies, consuming plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables may prevent premature skin aging. A high-sugar or high-refined carbohydrate diet has also been found to hasten the aging process.  Really the more anti-oxidants you ingest is better for your skin and offers more sun protection.

You could also consider keto meal plans to help improve your skin and health and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress by consuming healthy fats and reducing sugar intake. Additionally, preventing skin cancer, reducing acne, and reducing the appearance of varicose veins are all possible benefits of the keto diet.  Plain and simple-You become what you Eat!

3 Use Plant Based Oils

There are numerous benefits to using Plant-based  oils on the skin. Rose Hip Oil, and Raspberry Oil are  one of the best natural oils to use on the skin. Vitamins and antioxidants can help protect your skin from inflammation and oxidative skin damage. They also help keep skin suppleness, minimize scarring, and erase dark spots. Aside from keeping your skin moisturized and protect it from damage, it also helps decrease wrinkles. It’s truly an amazing way to fight aging skin.

4 Avoid too much alcohol

Having a drink with a buddy or a glass of wine to go with dinner is completely fine. However, alcohol dehydrates the skin and dilates the blood vessels, so be careful not to drink too much. Rosacea, a skin condition characterized by redness and small pimples, can develop due to excessive alcohol consumption. To help fight aging skin, avoid consuming too many alcoholic beverages.

5 Hydrate well

Drinking plenty of water is the most crucial and highly recommended way to fight aging skin. Properly moisturized skin is less likely to develop wrinkles and other signs of aging. Drinking enough water is essential to having healthy, youthful-looking skin.

There is plenty of discussion on what is the best water.  Hmmm.  What to choose?  Use your best educated decision and drink as much as possible.  I practice tuning my water with 528hz tuning fork to structure the water for better absorption.  Sometime I add a little himalayan salt for more water retention and added minerals.  This practice might not be a good idea for everyone since some people have too much water retention.  I tend to run a little dry, so a little salt for me is very helpful.

6 Eliminate stress

The effects of stress on the skin, such as wrinkles, puffy eyes, and dark circles under the eyes, are well documented. One of the most effective ways to fight aging skin is to reduce stress and incorporate more happiness into our lives. When people are under a lot of stress, their problems become more pronounced. Any activity that lowers your pressure and heart rate is encouraged. If you’re unable to cope with stress, get medical attention.

7 Wash your face before going to bed to fight aging skin

After a long day at the office, getting the motivation to wash your face might be challenging. For the sake of your skin’s well-being, however, you should always do just that. When exposed to the elements, free radicals build up on your face. If you don’t wash your face before sleep, these free radicals will damage your skin and cause fine lines and wrinkles. Cleansing your face in the evening is one of the best natural anti-aging recommendations. Get rid of the debris and extra oil using an excellent pore cleanser. You can achieve healthy, young-looking skin with just a few minutes before bed.

8 Avoid tanning

Tanning is one of the most common blunders people make regarding their skin. It will make your skin look worse if you damage it with ultraviolet light. The sun can have bad effects on your skin, like pigmentation and damage to elastin and collagen if overexposed. An excellent way to avoid this is sunless tanners. A wide variety of options are available on the face and body. However, they will not shield you from sunburn.

9 Exercise regularly to fight aging skin

We all know that regular exercise has several health benefits. Exercising keeps wrinkles and other signs of aging at bay by promoting a healthy glow to the skin. We’re not talking about going to the gym here, but if you want to, you can. Otherwise, engage in an outdoor sport you enjoy, such as jogging, yoga, cycling, or dance. I am a hiker so that is what i do mostly.  In my experience people who get out and exercise are overall more healthy and that includes healthy looking skin.  The radiant skin you desire can only be achieved by the daily exercise of at least 30 minutes.
